EndSARS Violence: IFAKO IJAIYE CDC CHAIRMAN APPEALS FOR PEACE IN THE COMMUNITY
The community leaders you appointed at the CDA levels up to the CDC have met to review the situation at hand with visits to areas affected.
While we’re in support of the legitimate demands of the youths, We hereby appeal for peace, calm and ceasefire. The federal, state and local governments are making frantic efforts at meeting the Youths demands. The Governor has spoken and taken action and within the next few days, evidently clear actions will be seen.
Although Ifako Ijaiye is relatively peaceful except couples of areas like Iju/Fagba near Abattoir where ethnic colouration was brought in resulting in looting, destruction of properties, death and injury took place. We sincerely sympathize with the victims.
We thank God that everything is now under control. We thank the Local Government Chairman, legislators representing Ifako Ijaiye at the state and federal levels, The Deputy Governor, The Executive Governor for their quick intervention not allowing degeneration of the crisis.
While we commend the security agencies for calming down the situations, We implore everyone, young and old, regardless of tribe to see themselves as one unified Nigerians and go on with their normal businesses without fear and intimidation.
PASTOR SAM OLU OPAJOBI
Chairman, CDC Ifako Ijaiye
