THE LEADER WHO SAW THE FUTURE, GOV. UMAHI, LAUNCHES SOUTH EAST TO THE NIGERIAN MAINSTREAM POLITICS.

The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE FNATE has today, 16th February,2021 performed the APC Registration, Revalidation Exercise in his Onuofukuru polling unit in his country home, Umunaga Uburu, Salt of the Nation.

The Governor flanked by the former National Vice Chairmam of PDP, who is also a pillar of APC in South East, Deacon Austin Umahi ( Anyanwu Ndi Igbo) reiterated that joining the party at the centre shall bring more dividends of democracy to the people. He urged those fanning embers of hate and discord and enemies of peace to turn a new leaf adding that his administration is unwavering in its commitment to bequething to Ebonyi State the best records of develoment in quality and in quantity.

Speaking during the event, the former National Vice Chairman of PDP who also performed his registration/Revalidation excercise,said the thought to belong to the party at the centre,APC is borne out of the dire need to reposition South East to its usual political culture of national mainstreaming in political governance.

Meanwhile, Governor Umahi has been vindicated in his reasons for joining APC as many Igbo leaders are throwing their weight behind APC saying that Ndigbo in the history of political develoment have never belonged to a Minority Party.

According to prominent Igbo leaders, Ndigbo cannot belong to opposition party as doing so will amount to double jeopardy.

The quest to produce a President of Nigeria of South East extraction can be possible when South East joins the party at the centre because political party inclinations are stronger than ethnic affinities.

This is indeed the political thought and philosophy of the Nation’s founding fathers of South East extraction, especially Sir Dr Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe.
