Osun Stands Still For Engr. Johnson Awoyomi’s Mother’s Burial In Edunabon, Ife.

The sleepy town of Edunabon in Ife North Local Government of Osun state was agog at the celebration of life of late Mrs Adebola Abigail Awoyomi today, who slept in the Lord on the 28th of March, 2021.
Iya Oyoyo (Nee Odetoro), as she was popularly known was aged 86 years.
She was the mother of Engr. Johnson Awoyomi, Group General Manager (Technical) Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In his funeral sermon, the Diocesan Bishop of Ife, Rt. Rev. Olubunmi Akinlade, declared that undoubtedly, Iya Oyoyo has gone to rest in the Lord as a reward for virtuous life she led.


The Vicar of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Edunabon, Ven. Michael Ayanda extolled the philanthropic attributes of Engr. John Awoyomi towards the Church, which he must have inherited from late Mama Abigail Awoyomi, he observed.


Engr. Awoyomi, who is an ordained pastor of Destiny Revival Church, Int’l. in his tribute to his late mother, acknowledged thus ” Yours was a life fulfilled and well-spent. Your death was a shock to me , but in all things the Bible enjoined us to give thanks. God loved you so much and that was why God answered your prayers”.

The former special assistant to ex-minister of state for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu, pledged his continuous support for the church and things of God.
He was full of gratitude to all the guests from all across the country, particularly, NNPC top brass from Abuja and pastors/members of Destiny Revival Church, Lagos led by the General Overseer, Pastor Chima Emenuga.

On his part, the Senior Pastor of Destiny Revival Church, in short words of exaltation charged parents to train up their children in way of the Lord. He emphasized the need for proper child upbringing as the panacea to societal ills and moral decadence.

The guests were treated to sumptuous meals and scintillating melody of Mega 99 music band at the well attended reception held @ CAC Primary School, Edunabon, Ife.
