Clean Up Lagos: LOTUS BANK DONATES STAFF BUS TO LAWMA
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) today unveiled a brand new 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus, which was donated to the agency by LOTUS Bank for staff transportation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
In his brief speech at the unveiling, the Managing Director/ CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, applauded the Bank, describing the gesture as first-of-its-kind from a financial institution.
He said: “To you, it might look like a token but to us, it means a lot. This staff bus will relieve our staff members of transportation hassles. On behalf of both our junior and Adhoc staff, we appreciate you and we look forward to more partnerships with you”.
Responding, the Divisional Head, Corporate Services of LOTUS Bank, Mr. Funso Tooki, stated that the gesture was borne out of the company’s vision to make an environmental and social impact in their communities of operation.
“We were able to identify the Authority’s need and we felt LAWMA staff need to enjoy dedicated transport service to take them to and from work. We also want to be a green bank, hence our interest in LAWMA”, he said.
Tooki gave assurance that the bank would continue to collaborate with the Authority as it works towards achieving a cleaner and sustainable environment in Lagos State.
