The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, on Sunday received yet another solid endorsement for his gubernatorial ambition.
This time, it was Apostle Chibuzo Gift Chinyere, the General Overseer (GO) of the very popular Omega Power Ministry (OPM) with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Apostle Chibuzo, as he is widely known, a native of Asa in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, has very large following in Abia where he also has flourishing branches of his ministry.
The highly benevolent Christian minister, who has devoted resources to educate and empower the less privileged, was unhinged as he spoke unequivocally.
He said: “In this church, there are different people from different (political) parties. There is PDP here, there is APC here, there is APGA, there are different, different parties. But I will say my own opinion, and you know me, I don’t mince words.
“I strongly believe that Alex Otti is the answer we have been waiting for. I believe that his governorship is going to bring a mighty turnaround, a liberation, a transformation in the decay going on in Abia State.
“Abia is in a decayed state and it needs deliverance. This is my state, I’m ashamed of going to my state.”
Speaking to the mammoth of crowd while presiding over the service, Apostle Chibuzo whose ministry is popular with the phrase “Dr. Jesus”, said he was endorsing Otti as the second only other candidate for the 2023 election.
“The way I openly endorsed His Excellency Peter Obi, here, that is the way I have openly endorsed him (Alex Otti). These are the two that I have endorsed and I believe very strongly that while His Excellency Alex Otti will redeem Abia, Peter Obi will redeem Nigeria.
“Nigeria needs deliverance, Abia State needs deliverance. If we don’t get it right now, the suffering that will come next, hey! Nigerians will be killing their children and be eating; say God forbid,” he declared.
He called on Nigerians who have registered to vote to go and collect their permanent voter cards (PVCs) as that is the only way they can remove elected bad leaders from office.
“If you have not got your PVC go and get your PVC. If you make mistake, the suffering will be so much, the kind we see today will be part one of suffering. We cannot continue like this. Enough is enough,” he warned.
A highly elated Dr. Otti thanked the Omega Power Ministry founder and leader for the huge endorsement, saying it meant a lot to him.
“I know this is not Abia State, but I do know that there are lots of Abia people here and I’m happy to worship here today,” the LP governorship candidate favoured to win the March 11, 2023 election said.
He congratulated Apostle Chibuzo for the wonderful work he’s doing with his ministry while expressing excitement at size of the facility accommodating the headquarters of the ministry, Dr. Jesus City, located at Aluu, Port Harcourt.
Otti said Abia is a state blessed with both human and natural resources, but unfortunately the leadership selection process has not been good.
“We’ve not had good leadership and sometimes when you’re doing well elsewhere, and you meet people and introduce yourself as coming from Abia State, somebody may ask you, ‘can any good thing come out of Abia State?’
“I thought I should answer that call that, ‘yes, there’s a lot of good things that can come out of Abia State’. That is why I offered myself, not as a politician.
“What I require is eight years to turn the state around. I know that leadership and power come from God, as recorded in the bible. Psalm 62 verse 11 says, ‘God has spoken once, twice have I heard that power belongs to God’,” he said.
