Prepared For Performance: Abia Professionals Prefer Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Dr Alex Otti To Reposition The State.

*Hosts Dinner in His Honour

A renowned group of technocrats, professionals and industry leaders in Abia state, under aegis of Abia Professionals have expressed their preference for the Labour Party Governorship Candidate Dr. Alex Chioma Otti to resuscitate the industrial leadership role of Abia, East of the Niger.

In an dinner organized by the group in honour of Alex Otti, on February 11, 2023, the Secretary General of Abia Professionals Mr. Nkem Egbuta said the Abia Professional Community would appreciate a more critical analysis of his development programmes for state, to further convince them of his readiness to rescue Abia.

He decried the state of Abia’s development and stressed that Abians have suffered enough deprivation and can no longer entrust their glorious destiny in the hands of purposeless set of leaders.

The chairman of the Dinner Interactive session, Chief Eme Okoro, former Secretary to the State Government, asked Dr. Alex Otti to tell Abians what he will do differently to reposition Abia, if elected as governor of the state.

His speech opened the floor for questions from Abia Professionals’ members in different areas of the socio economic space of the state.

In his response to the numerous questions thrown at him, the Labour Party Governorship hopeful, Dr Alex Otti appreciated their invitation and barrage of inquest into his work plan.

He reminded them that as an economist, the purchasing and production power of Abians will be reactivated by instant clearance of salaries and pensions arrears, once sworn-in as the Governor of Abia

The deployment of MSME working template already developed for industrial revolution of Abia will commence immediately.

He said the agricultural value chain with cooperative credit funding mechanism, zonal farming clusters and agric industrial produce base, will kick off instantly too.

He reminded his audience that having understudied Abia’s great potentials and needs for over a decade, the requisite solutions, tailored to meet specific areas of need that will lead to sustainable economic recovery of Abia are on their marks to hit the ground running.

On power supply to boost economic activities in the state, Otti said, full capacity of Geometric Power Project will be utilized in his planned new ‘industrial frontiers of Aba, Ohafia and Umuahia zones.’

He also promised to work with them(Abia Professionals), as well as other private investors in Public Private Partnership to fully harness the limestone deposit in Arochuckwu for cement production and Kaolin for modern ceramic industry in Ohiya, Umuahia.

The new age technology and digital economic realities for the teeming youthful and hardworking population of Abia, must be productively exploited.
This he said will be realized by the ‘establishment of Tech Institute with accessible venture capital for start-ups.

Dr. Otti further reminded his critical listeners at well attended dinner that, the thriving Nollywood industry which has captured global attention started in Aba, but lost her glory to Lagos and Asaba.

He, however, promised to reverse the trend by establishing an ultra modern Entertainment and Games Village in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North and recalibrate the untapped tourism sector of the state.

Satisfactorily, members of Abia Professionals seated at the dinner, applauded his high level of preparedness and indepth analysis of his fit-for-purpose solution approach to critical challenges Abia needs for sustainable growth and economic development.

He was unanimously adopted as the preferred governorship candidate of Abia Professional Community for March 11, 2023 election.

Amongst those in the company of Dr. Alex Otti, were his Campaign Council Director General, Chief Acho Obioma and Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, international Oil and Gas expert.
