NIGERIA DECIDES: HUGE TURNOUT AND PEACEFUL ATMOSPHERE GREET INEC IN NNAMDI KANU IPOB LEADER’S HOME IN AFARA UKWU, UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE
Unprecedented turnout of electorates has been witnessed in Abia state, irrespective of late arrival of INEC officials and materials to various polling units of the state.
At Queen Elizabeth Umuobasi Hall 2, Unit 9, Afara Ukwu, Ibeku Umuahia, Abia state, the poling unit in the ward of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), acreditation of voters and proper casting of votes commenced at 11am.
The atmosphere is devoid of tension and there are no intimidating security presence and the voting process is peaceful.
Also in Unit 20, Ndagbo/Etiti Nabo Village Square of Afara Ukwu Ibeku, Umuahia too, huge turnout and peaceful atmosphere is pervading the entire area.
Voting in Umuahia is generally peaceful with impressive turnout of voters patiently waiting to cast the ballot.
INEC is expected to live up to its duties by ensuring that everyone with his or her PVC, who is eligible to vote, cast their ballot in this historic election.
The high level of enthusiasm and turn out of voters is direct opposite of voter apathy that was prevalent in this state.
It is also imperative to note that the ‘No Vote in Biafra land’ campaign and threat of lockdown by one Simon Ekpa of IPOB is simply null and void and of no effect in Abia state.
