Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has set the ball rolling towards the Industrialization of the state.

This was stated by the Deputy Governor, Engineer Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE, during a meeting with Ohafia Improvement Union Inc. Women Wing (INYOM OHAFIA), Umuahia Branch.

“One of the channels to achieving that is the appointment of industrious men/women as Mayors/Deputy Mayors in the 17LGAs of the state. These are tested and trusted visionary leaders who have excelled in their various fields of endeavor. They possess the capacity to stir prompt positive community development across the board”, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu said.

The Deputy Governor described mothers as drivers of peace and economic development. He assured the women of Governor Otti’s resolve to put an end to a power outage in Ohafia by connecting her to the 33kV line at Ihechiowa in Arochukwu LGA.

He thanked them for their unflinching support to Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, led administration and urged them to remain steadfast in that regard.

Earlier in her address, the leader and President of INYOM OHAFIA, UMUAHIA BRANCH, Elder Evangelist Christiana Okoro, narrated how they fasted, prayed, and stood their grounds for the emancipation of Ohafia in particular and Abia State in general, from political dungeon during campaigns and election days respectively.

She appealed to the State Government to support the developmental strides of the Age Grade System in Ohafia by exposing the inherent economic potential of Ohafia, thereby providing jobs for the youths.

Rendering her vote of thanks, the Secretary, Mrs. Uche Uka eulogized the Governor for finding their son, Engineer Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE, worthy to deputize him in the task of rebuilding Abia, and prayed for God’s wisdom and good health upon Governor Otti and his deputy.

Her Excellency, Mrs Adaeze Chidera Emetu, wife of the Deputy Governor was present at the meeting.
